The Alaskan Sailing Club is planning a once-in-a-lifetime event filled with thrilling racing and amazing family-friendly side excursions.

Located about 60 miles north of Anchorage, Big Lake offers stunning natural beauty. On a clear day, you might even catch a glimpse of the towering Denali, North America’s highest peak, in the distance.

What You Need to Do

If you're interested in participating, we need your information! Please send the following details to Bruce Lee at bruceair907@gmail.com :

  • Your name

  • Your crew’s name

  • Your team name (Get creative—or we will!)

  • Preferred fleet: A or B

  • Your contact phone number and email address

Solo sailors are also welcome! Just let us know, and we’ll work to pair you with a teammate.

Key Event Details

  • Boats will be provided by the Alaska Sailing Club, so there’s no need to tow your own boat! We may bring in extra boats from the West fleet depending on registration numbers.

  • The regatta will be sailed on Big Lake in a Round Robin format, to be finalized based on team entries.

  • The Notice of Race (NOR) will be released once we have a better idea of the team count and fleet assignments.

A Perfect Venue for Novices and First-Time Racers

BNAC 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for novice sailors and first-time racers! With Alaska’s famous Midnight Sun, you'll have plenty of daylight for racing and learning. We'll have coaches and experienced sailors available to help you build your skills, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident on the water.

Family-Friendly Fun!

BNAC 2025 won’t just be about racing! With Big Lake as the backdrop, we’re planning plenty of non-sailing activities for you and your family. From sightseeing to outdoor adventures, there will be exciting opportunities to explore the beauty of Alaska. The Alaskan Sailing Club’s concierge team is working hard to curate a list of before-and-after regatta excursions, making this an event that truly has something for everyone!

Tenting and RV parking information
Amenities

Our tenting area is located at the end of “trailer row” and we always have plenty of space for tents. We have spots for 3-4 RVs, which is usually enough. If RV parking is full, you can camp at the Big Lake South State Recreation Site, a short drive from the club. Note that we have electric power available, but not full hookups. Please review our transient RV parking guidelines for more information about bringing an RV to the club.

We have a grill, a microwave, a coffee maker, outhouses, electricity, a clubhouse, and a sauna. We don’t have a fridge, showers, or running water. Also, there is a Three Bears grocery store about ten minutes away from the club if you need supplies. Lakeside Laundromat is across the street from Three Bears and has hot showers and a sink where you can fill water coolers.
