Looking Ahead and a Bit Behind
From your Commodore – Larry Schmida
The excitement of sailing on Lake Dillon has past but the Grand times and Comradery remain. The views of the Water, Sky and Mountains are forever etched in my mind. What a BNAC Fleet 30 of Colorado put on.  I thank them all on behalf of the Buccaneer Class Association for such a stellar event. Through their combined efforts, they brought 30 Buc’s from all over the country to Lake Dillon. D Y C the highest Yacht Club in the US, at 9,017 feet above sea level. And regardless of the number of Past BNAC Champions and local sailors there, the event was won by two somewhat new comers, John Weiss and JayFought from Wisconsin.

Our next BNAC will be hosted by the Southern Maryland Fleet #69 on Solomon’s Island, October 1-3, 2015.
Both John Fraser and I, warmly thank the members of the Class for electing and trusting us to lead and run the Association for the next two years. Additionally members of the National Committee are, Tony Chapman – Treasurer, Michelle Major – Membership Chair, Jen Kohl – Publicity Chair, Kyra Tallon –Current Race Chair and David Spira – Past Race Chair.
Going forward some of the items that the National Committee will address are the selection of the 2016 BNAC site, Timely Revisions & Improvements to the Class Web site, the use of ‘Social Media’ and the appointment of a new Class Measurer.
Finally, I would like to thank Jimmy Yurko as our last Commodore. What a job he did for us.
