Feel like taking a great sailing weekend trip?

The Pirates on the Pungo Regatta in Bel Haven North Carolina is a great trip.

This event has hosted Buccaneer 18 One Design, PHRF and Portsmouth racing for several years, and has never disappointed.

Trailer your boat down to Bel Haven for this great event.  The folks at Pirates on the Pungo really know how to host an event.  The Pungo creek is an awesome venue.  The creeks are surrounded by the beautiful North Carolina landscape, and go on for miles and miles.

Brief Description from the Pirates on the Pungo Website:

Pirates on the Pungo Regatta was started in 1999 to raise money for thePungo District Hospital Foundation while highlighting the beautiful waters of the Pungo River. It has been a resounding success and has grown to attract participation from racers along the east coast of the US. Since 2007, the race has been organized and run by the Belhaven Yacht Club and the River Rat Yacht Club. It has raised close to $100,000 for the Foundation since that time. Over 50 sailboats of all sizes participated in the 2012 Regatta.

The grounds of the River Forest Manor are the anchor site for most of the week end events, providing dockage and boat launches at reduced rates to Regatta participants.

The Regatta will be governed by the US Sailing Rules and PHRF Rating Rules
